Wedding Considerations

credit: http://campus-to-career.com
Since Mr. J and I finally agreed on getting married next year, we've had a lot of things to consider. Who, What, When, Where, and How. These questions were always on our minds.

Initially, we thought of having our wedding in our hometown - in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan.
  • Church - St. Peter Parish ~ church that is close to our hearts.
  • Venue - Countless venues / resorts located there as well. But most of them are expensive ranging from 25K and up.
  • Guests - Most of our relatives and closest friends residing there. But some are in Manila, especially our workmates.
  • Accessibility - Some of our guests will be travelling for 2 hrs since they are from Manila.
  • Suppliers - Need to consider OOT Fees since Bulacan is province already, esp if the supplier will be coming from Manila.
We also considered having our wedding in Manila, specifically in Caloocan Area. Both of us stayed in Manila to work for quite some time. We've had our second family there, some members in our boarding house who have been so close to our hearts. We gained a lot of friend as well through our workmates.
  • Church - We considered Shrine of Our Lady of Grace in Caloocan.
  • Venue - Most of the venues are located in QC and Manila, hence transfer of guests and traffic will become an issue i think.
  • Guests - Accessible for our workmates, but our family members and relatives need to travel for an hour or two to reach the area.
  • Accessibility - Some of our relatives and family will travel for 2 hrs i guess.
  • Suppliers - There are a lot of suppliers in Manila, hence not paying an OOT Fee will be quite an advantage.
We thought of having a destination wedding also. When it comes to destination, Tagaytay crossed our minds. Aside from being the nearest and most accessible destination wedding place, we considered Tagaytay because my dream wedding church is located within the area.
  • Church - My Dream Church ~ Transfiguration Chapel of Caleruega.
  • Venue - A lot of venues located in the area. Picturesque and a nice-to-have destination wedding. We just need to choose a venue that will fit our budget.
  • Guests - For those living in Manila, they'll just travel for roughly 2 hours to reach the area. For our family, They need at least 4 hours i guess.
  • Accessibility - All of our guests will be travelling there to witness our once in a lifetime event.
  • Suppliers - Since Tagaytay is a wedding destination, we're pretty sure that there will be a lot of suppliers in the area.
At the end of the day, whatever will be our decision is, the most important part will always be this:

"We will be marrying the person that we want to spend the rest of our lives with."

Our Wedding Date

credit: http://calenworld.com/

How did we come up on our wedding date?

In my case, I really don't want to remember too much dates to consider or to be celebrated.

We're really eager to have our wedding date to be the same with our Anniversary date since we've been celebrating it for almost a decade now.

Same goes with we don't want to set it aside and forget it later on because as per my previous post, the day I said YES to him was Gods' will and an answer to all our prayers before committing to this relationship.

Our Anniversary fell during rainy seasons in the Philippines, July. Actually, we weren't able to celebrate our anniversary on its exact date. HAHA! When we are in the Philippines, we used to celebrate it during August month most of the time, when the weather is already good and calm.

We really wanted our wedding date to be a significant day for us. Since our anniversary will no longer be possible, we took our First-Met Anniversary (December.♥.2005) as our final wedding date since it will fall on Saturday by next year.

The day we first met was an epic day for the both of us. The day when God led us in to each others' lives.

Countdown starts now for our Big Day.
December-♥-2016, 11th First-Met Anniversary. ♥

Wedding Budget

credit: http://www.learnvest.com
Mr. J and I weren't born with silver spoons on our table, hence the budget for our dream wedding will be coming from our own salary incomes. Yes, we will start from scratch.

Since we've decided on getting married next year, initially, Mr. J and I opened a joint account so we can allot our needed budget for the wedding properly.

We need to keep our track on a budget, to avoid on getting broke after the wedding. We want to pull off our dream simple wedding by spending in a wiser way without sacrificing the quality of course.

For us to allocate the proper budgeting process, I made an excel sheet which will help us to easily determine the costings. I divided the following into:
  • Major Suppliers
  • Minor Suppliers
  • Personal
  • Easy Find | DIY
Below given informations are just according to our own preferences and for sample purposes only.

Here are the sample screen shots from my excel workbook:

I also included the following sheets so everything will become at ease:
  • Guest list Sheet
  • Wedding Suppliers Budget & Timeline Sheet
  • Payment & Balance Sheet

We discussed that we should only spend at least a minimum and maximum of (Amount in Peso) wedding budget for our of 80 guests max. No more, no less.

With the help of prayer, positivity, and will of God, we're hoping that we can make it all throughout our wedding preps.
